Ch. Winfield’s Magical Mystery Tour

We co-bred Hoagie with our friends Rebecca Hillyer and John Riedl at Winfield Goldens.  Hoagie was our first home-bred champion and Cooper’s first American Champion.  We’d like to thank Hoagie’s owners for seeing him through to his championship – BJ handled him to all of his points except that last one!  He was an absolutely delightful dog to be around and had this uncanny ability to make you smile – just like his sire.  Hoagie will forever be in our hearts and his owners BJ Modrell and Greg Mosen of Woodinville, WA are keeping his memory alive through his kids and grand-kids.

Charo
What can I say about Charo that would pay homage to the greatness… no, the “gold-ness” that she was? Charo was grace, beauty, brains and silly all wrapped in a big, blonde package. Throughout her life, every time she would see me, she would immediately stop, drop and roll onto her back and “squeal” with joy at seeing her first mom, again! But I was not the impetus behind her extraordinary life… A symbiotic relationship is defined as one that is of mutual benefit and dependence, one that I believe only human and canine can share. Charo and Kristi certainly had that and as a breeder, it was gratifying to see. I know it’s been said before, but there truly will NEVER be another like her. Charo left us shortly after her 10th birthday in 2009 and the hole in our hearts will be there forever.

Ch. Trillium’s Set the Moon A’Blaze

Blazer

A strapping blonde, Blazer was Kelsey’s first Champion get and the first Champion for Bill and Barb Thornberry/Valor Goldens. He finished his championship with relative ease and had a captivating presence in the ring. He made a career after the show ring as chief spokesperson for Bill’s car dealership (http://www.thornberrysauto.com/ ) and his elegant type remains a standard in our breeding program. Our sincere appreciation to Blazer’s owners for seeing his potential and being part of our Trillium Goldens family. Blazer crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in March of 2008, but his memory lives on at Valor Goldens and in our hearts… forever.

Can. Ch. Winfield Imagine’s Mostabear

Maggie
Maggie was from our first litter out of Cooper and Ch. Winfield’s Covergirl, co-bred with John Riedl and Rebecca Hillyer of Winfield Goldens more than 12 years ago. She was our first home-bred Canadian Champion and first group winning dog. She was also Best Puppy in Show and possessed lovely breed type. Maggie (along with her littermates Libby  and Hoagie was a perfect example of the phrase, “good things come in small packages.” Special thanks to Maggie’s owners Steve and Christine Grouhel/Mostabear for including Maggie in their lives and breeding program; and continuing to be our friends over the years and the miles between us. Maggie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge just after her 12th birthday in September of 2008 and while Mostabear no longer breeds Golden Retrievers, you can see Maggie’s incredible attributes through her kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids now being bred by our friends at Nadina Goldens in Fruitvale, BC. Rest in peace, “little one.”

(Click photo for more information)

I met Carol Hanft at an agility trial many years ago – we both had Goldens named Cooper and it was our very special boys that brought us together as friends. So when Carol mentioned she and Bob were looking for a “special” male puppy to bring into their home, I was thrilled and hopeful that I’d have that one “special” boy to offer her. It was obvious to me right from the beginning, that Parker WAS that puppy and he later proved it in the conformation ring – finishing with 3 majors and a Group 1 his first time out as a Special! Parker also went on to finish his Excellent Agility and Rally titles in style, many times winning his class! In addition to being a Golden with both brains and beauty, Parker starred as Air Bud in the 2006 movie Air Buddies! If you are looking to enhance your breeding program with a pedigree that offers more than just a pretty face, click on the link provided!

Trillium’s Indian Summer, CD
Indy is a big, blonde mush melon like his sire Strider. And fortunately for us, he is owned by Kristi Crabtree, our friend who together with Charo achieved greatness in the Golden Retriever world of obedience. Even though Indy achieved his Companion Dog title at the GRCA National Specialty in 2007, knowing Kristi it’s just the beginning! We look forward to hearing of all his successes in the ring!

Cancer affects 30-50% of all dogs. A higher incidence in certain breeds suggests that genetic risk factors exist and can be identified. Please support and advance canine cancer research.
